Jim Longo

Bio: Jim Longo started working at Tri-Rivers 2002

Educational Background:
• Boston University- in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism. 
• Master’s Degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia in May 1987, • The Ohio State University. In September 1993, he enrolled in the social studies education program.

Prior Experience:
• Full-time staff writer for Navy Times in Springfield, Virginia, in November 1987. While at Navy Times, he covered Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps personnel issues.  From May 1992 to August 1993, he reported on military post exchanges for Military Market Magazine, a sister publication of Navy Times.
• In August 1995, he began teaching 7th and 8th grade at Marion Catholic. After seven years at Marion Catholic, he joined the Tri Rivers staff as a social studies instructor.
• Has taught geography at the Ohio State University Marion since September 1999. 

His wife Mary is the county director and family and consumer sciences educator for Ohio State University Extension in Marion.  Their children Jimmy, Sarah, and Christie are enrolled in River Valley Local School District
