Sophomore Exploration Program
During your sophomore year the Transitions Program provides you with a unique opportunity to explore a variety of career fields. This one-year sophomore program is designed to provide you the opportunity to explore programs offered at Tri-Rivers Career Center. It also helps you make up credits for graduation if you are deficient.
Jump start your career by exploring and experiencing a wide range of career technical programs. Participating in Transitions your sophomore year will help you make a more informed decision when choosing one of our two-year career tech programs for your junior and senior years.
Make up credits for graduation
Are you deficient in credits for graduation?
Transitions provides a great opportunity for you to earn 4 academic credits, 3 career technical credits, 1/2 credit for online coursework, and a 1/2 credit for a Life Skills course for graduation. Without a high school diploma, your chances of finding a good job are almost zero.
Your Choice: Section A or Section B.
Select two career fields of interest from your chosen section to explore (one each semester):
| Group A | Group B |
| Arts, Design & Communication | Engineering & Manufacturing |
| Health Science | Construction & Environmental |
| Human Services | Transportation Systems |
The Transitions Program is designed to provide career exploration and foundational skills to meet your needs, interests and abilities.
In all clusters you will participate in field trips, lab projects, listen to guest speakers in the career field, develop leadership, teamwork, communication & critical thinking skills.
