Congrats to July 2015 Welding Grads

Welding Graduates include:

Graduates of the July 2015 Welding, Fabrication and Allied Processes Class include Larry Channell, Robert Heacock, Martin Morgan, Sara Parish and Joey Runyon. They were recognized for the completion of the course and for passing the American Welding Society certifications as well as several other certifications.

“For those who have completed the course, it marks over 3 months of hard work and dedication,” said Levi Retterer, Welding Instructor.

Retterer congratulated the class on their dedication to success and great attitudes and work ethic. He recognized Channell and Heacock for perfect attendance.

There were 357,400 jobs for welders, cutters, solderers and brass workers in 2012, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. By 2020 that number is expected to have grown 15%. Larry Hickman, Executive Director, talked about this nationwide shortage due in part to the average age of welders being around 55.
