At the end of voting Wednesday, January 18, he had received the most votes. The official tally was completed Friday, Jan. 20 at 7pm. At that time Julio was informed that he was winner of the $25,000 scholarship to the Universal Technical Institute—the &#8220;Harvard of Auto Technology&#8221; as he calls it.</p>
<p>The outpouring of support from students, staff, media, the Career Center&#8217;s home schools, other career centers in the State of Ohio, OSUM, MTC, State Career Tech friends and friends of friends as from New York to Iowa was amazing. </p>
<p>The top three video have been pulled from the UTI site, but the winning three will be posted again Friday.</p>

<p>The annual event began with coats being collected, then cleaned at Kimmel&#8217;s and delivered to Tri-Rivers for distribution. Tri-Rivers Construction Technologies students and their instructor Steve Lawrence built the racks for the coats and hung all of them the day before.</p>
<p>Along with Tri-Rivers, sponsors and distribution sites for the annual event included: Buckeye Country 94.3, WMRN 1490, Magic 95.9, JD Implement, Goodwill, Marion Technical College, United Bank, Fantastic Sams, Marion Centre, Hill Equipment,  and SIA.</p>
<p>&#8220;A special thanks to Mr. Lawrence and his students for all of their efforts, Kimmel&#8217;s for cleaning the coats, all those who donated their gently used coats and the radio stations for organizing the event,&#8221; said Ellen Messenger, Community Relations Director for Tri-Rivers. &#8220;The whole purpose of this event is to help keep the community warm.&#8221;</p>

<p>The tapping ceremony for the fall membership was Tuesday, Nov. 29. The students were quietly taken out of class, blindfolded and led around the building by current NTHS members. They then removed their blindfolds and were presented a note congratulating them.  They were served light refreshments. The formal fall induction ceremony will be Monday, December 5 at 7pm in the Auditorium.</p>
<p>In the spring there will be another tapping and induction ceremony. NTHS is America&#8217;s highest award of excellence in career and technical education. It is a nationally recognized organization for promoting excellence in workforce education to meet the demands of today&#8217;s quality driven businesses and industries.</p>
