POSITION:

VETERINARY ASSISTING HIGH SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR

 

REPORTS TO:

 

Director of Career Technical Education

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Experience of five years (minimum) in the area of Veterinary Medicine, including, but not limited to, Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician, Veterinarian, Animal Lab Technician, Animal Researcher
  • Prefer experience in both clinic and office management
  • Some instructional experience would be beneficial
  • A willingness to participate in approved state teacher education training 
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a valid Ohio Career Technical Certificate/License in the area of instruction

 

 

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Provide instruction for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors in Veterinary Assisting areas including, but not limited to Medical Terminology, Animal Nutrition, Animal Care, Animal Reproduction, Medical Office, and records management as well as introduction to the Animal Care Professions
  • Ability to work cooperatively with Veterinarians
  • Provide leadership for the FFA student organization
  • A sincere interest and commitment to working with students, parents, staff, associate schools, and local employers
  • Good organizational, communication, instructional, management, human relations, and public relations skills
  • Ability to maintain professional standards

 

WORK YEAR:           

184 day contract (possible extended service days beyond the contract)

 

SALARY:

Based on certification/licensure, degree and/or related work experience, benefits include: Hospitalization, Dental, Prescription Drug, Vision, Life, and STRS Retirement plan

 

STARTING DATE:

 

 

August 1, 2012

(option for some additional professional development/planning days prior to the August 1 start date: Spring – Summer 2012)

COLLISION REPAIR TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR

 

REPORTS TO:

 

Director of Career Technical Education

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Experience of five years (minimum) in the area of Collision Repair, Auto body work, including, but not limited to: spray painting, air brushing, wrapping, body repair in; metal, plastic, and fiberglass, frame alignment, and cost estimating
  • Prefer experience in both shop operations and office management
  • Needs to be familiar with ICAR
  • Some instructional experience would be beneficial
  • A willingness to participate in approved state teacher education training 
  • Willingness to enroll in and complete required classes/seminars to obtain a valid Ohio Career Technical Certificate/License in the area of instruction

  • Align the program with ICAR standards and certification
  • Ability to work cooperatively with area Body Shops
  • Willingness to create partnerships with area Body Shops
  • Provide leadership for the SkillsUSA student organization
  • A sincere interest and commitment to working with students, parents, staff, associate schools, and local employers
  • Good organizational, communication, instructional, management, human relations, and public relations skills
  • Ability to maintain professional standards
