The regular April Board of Education meeting was called to order by President Mickey Landon at 7:00 p.m.

                        Part Time

 

To approve a contract for Jim Rittler and Jason Rice for the part-time groundskeeper.  Jim Rittler and Jason Rice will share the responsibilities of this position and backup each other to assist in critical times such as rut repair and reseeding, possible wet and fast growing conditions, and the guarantee to have grounds looking good at all times.  These contracts will begin immediately and continue through October 31, 2011.  Each employee will be paid $10.00 per hour for hours worked.  The maximum number of hours between both employees shall be twenty-five (25) hours per week, unless prior approval is obtained from the Superintendent.

á       To approve a monetary donation of $200.00 from Kirby Auto Parts in Richwood to the Auto Tech. class.  Kirby Auto Parts also donated a tow of 2 donated vehicles from Sinclair College in Dayton on Friday, February 18, 2011.  Value of the tow - $500.

 

á       To approve a donation from CarrollÕs Jewelers of engraving for the retirement bell of Deb Rellinger.  Value of $33.20.

 


 

 

D.             Agreement with Marion Technical College – Attachment 10D

 

To approve an agreement between Tri-Rivers Career Center and Marion Technical College to enter into a school-college partnership to provide higher education opportunities to qualified learners within the district.   A complete copy is attached for your review.

 

 

E.    Student Accident Insurance – Attachment 10E

 

To approve the Student Accident Insurance from Griffin Insurance.  This is an optional insurance that students may purchase at their own expense.  This is the same company we have used in the past.

To approve the attached textbook list for the LPN-RN Program for 2011-2012.

To approve an agreement between Tri-Rivers Career Center and Dr. Dean Gray for our patient care technician students to obtain learning experience in clinical practice areas and community services.

 

I.       Adult Education Student Handbook – Attachment 10I

 

To approve the attached Adult Education Student Handbook for 2011-2012.

 

J.              Out of State Workshop – Attachment 10J

 

To approve attendance at an out-of-state  CoAEMSP Accreditation Workshop on June 3-4 in Pittsburg, PA for Regina Shumaker.  The registration fee is $275, lodging for 2 nights is $159 per night + tax, and a daily maximum rate of $40 for food will bring the total cost of the workshop to approximately $715 plus transportation. Cost of registration and travel will be paid by a grant.   The Ohio Department of Public Safety is requiring that all Training providers become CoAEMSP Accredited in order to continue to offer training with National certification. This workshop is the first step in the accreditation process.

 

 

K.             Non-Renewal of Contract

 

Mr. Bob Haas moved to approve a non-renewal of the contract of David Kimberling, Precision Machining Instructor.  Mr. KimberlingÕs current contract expires on August 31, 2011.
