Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to TRCC Graduating Seniors based on qualifications and completed application materials. Scholarship recipients will be announced during Senior Recognition ceremonies on May 18, 2017.

NOTE: Applications available in Student Services beginning March 6, 2017.

Please Read!

– Applicants must complete the top portion of the recommendation sheets and distribute them to the proper teachers.
– Students will be considered for each scholarship he or she indicates on the application form. Completed application forms must be returned to Student Services by Friday, April 7, 2017 at 3 PM. No late applications will be accepted!
– The scholarship award will be submitted to the school in the student’s name upon request of the students.
– The selection committee will not discriminate on the basis of sex, race or handicap.
– Recipients must complete a thank-you note to person/s connected to originator of scholarship/s
– See your guidance counselor after award
– Scholarships must be redeemed within 18 months from time of
award.

Tri-Rivers Scholarships & More

1. Fred Ryan Memorial

a. Applicant must be a senior at Tri-Rivers Career Center and planning to continue an
education at a college, technical school or licensed nursing program.
b. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend college.
c. Applicant must be eligible to receive a Tri-Rivers certificate of completion in his/her program.
d. Applicant must submit recommendation forms to all current teachers of the applicant as well as to one person of the applicant’s choice.
e. Selection is based on grades and financial need, with emphasis on attitude, attendance, seriousness of purpose, initiative, dependability, and getting along with others.

2. Sally A. Schweinfurth Memorial

a. Applicant must have maintained a 4.0 average in both English and Social
Studies while a student at Tri-Rivers.
b. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend a university or technical college.
c. Applicant must submit recommendation forms to all current teachers of the applicant as well as to one person of the applicant’s choice.
d. Selection is based on grades and financial need, with emphasis on attitude, attendance, seriousness of purpose, initiative, dependability, and getting along with others.

3. Nancy Howald Chapman Memorial

a. Must be a full-time senior at Tri-Rivers Career Center.
b. Applicant must have maintained a 3.0 accumulative grade point average in all courses at Tri- Rivers.
c. Applicant must be enrolled in Early Childhood Education with a desire to continue their education after high school.
d. Applicant must provide evidence of participation in student activities at Tri-Rivers.
e. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend a university or technical college.
f. Applicant must submit recommendation forms to all current teachers of the applicant as well as to one person of the applicant’s choice.

4. Tri-Rivers Education Association

a. Applicant must be a senior at Tri-Rivers Career Center and planning to continue an
education at a college, technical school, or licensed nursing program.
b. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend college.
c. Applicant must have achieved a 3.5 GPA while a student at Tri-Rivers (this does not include GPA from home school).
d. Applicant must submit a recommendation form to all current teachers of the applicant as well as to one person of the applicant’s choice.
e. Before receiving this scholarship, a student must provide documentation of paying for college tuition or books.
f. Selection is based on grades and financial need with emphasis on attitude, attendance, seriousness of purpose, initiative, dependability, and getting along with others.
g. Student must also hold an officer’s position in a youth club at Tri-Rivers.

5. Tri-Rivers Alumni Association Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a senior at Tri-Rivers Career Center and planning to continue an
education at a college, technical school, licensed nursing program, or cosmetology
school.
b. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend college.
c. Applicant must be eligible to receive a Tri-Rivers certificate of completion in their program.
d. Applicant must submit a recommendation form to all current teachers of the applicant as well as to one person of the applicant’s choice.
e. Selection is based on grades and financial need, with emphasis on attitude, attendance, seriousness of purpose, initiative, dependability, participation in CTSO activities, and community service events.

6. James Harris Culinary Arts Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a full-time senior at TRCC.
b. Selection is based on grades, financial need, initiative, seriousness of purpose, dependability, and attendance.
c. Applicant must be enrolled in Culinary Arts with a desire to continue in the field of Culinary Arts.
d. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend a university or technical college.
e. Applicant must submit a recommendation form to all current teachers of the
applicant as well as to one person of the applicant’s choice.

7. Burroughs Nature Club Scholarship

a. Selection is based on grades, financial need, attitude, seriousness of purpose,
initiative, dependability, and attendance.
b. Applicant must be a full-time student at TRCC with senior status.
c. Applicant must show evidence of having participated in student activities.
d. Applicant must provide documentation of plans for attending a university or technical college.
e. Applicant must intend on majoring in horticulture or some related field.
f. Applicant must submit a recommendation form to all current teachers of the applicant as well as to one person of the applicant’s choice.

8. Don Stose Memorial Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a full-time senior at Tri-Rivers who is enrolled in Culinary
Arts with a desire to continue education after high school
b. Selection is based on grades and financial need with emphasis on attitude, seriousness of purpose, initiative, dependability and getting along with others.
c. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend a university, technical college, or specialty training school after high school.
d. Applicant must submit a recommendation from each teacher the applicant has had as well as from one person of the applicant’s choice.

9. Bill Guthery Memorial Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a full-time senior at Tri-Rivers who is enrolled in one of the following programs:
Agriculture & Industrial Technology, Automotive Technology or Collision Repair Technology.
b. Selection is based on grades and financial needs with emphasis on attitude, seriousness of purpose,
initiative, dependability and getting along with others.
c. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend a university, technical college or specialty training school.

10. John F. Kreis Memorial Scholarship

a. Must be a full-time senior in a program at Tri-Rivers Career Center and taking his/her academic courses at Tri-Rivers.
b. Have maintained a 2.0 total GPA.
c. Provide documentation of financial need.
d. Provide documentation of plans to attend a university, technical college or specialty training school after high school.
e. A possibility for renewal exists for this scholarship.

11. Rick Lupica Memorial Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a full-time senior at Tri-Rivers who is enrolled in Automotive Technology or Collision Repair Technology.
b. Selection is based on grades and financial needs with emphasis on attitude, seriousness of purpose, initiative, dependability and getting along with others.
c. Must provide documentation of plans to attend a university, technical college or specialty training school.
d. Priority will be given, but not limited to, students living in Marion or Morrow Counties.

12. Culinary Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a senior student enrolled fulltime in the TRCC Culinary Arts Program
b. Applicant must have a grade of at least a C in all classes taken at Tri-Rivers
c. Applicant must have a strong interest in the culinary/hospitality field and a plan for this as a career
d. Applicant must be accepted to a university, college or technical school for culinary or hospitality
e. Applicant must be actively involved in a CTSO
f. Student must show financial need

13. Multi County Job Fair Committee Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a senior at Tri-Rivers Career Center and planning to continue his/her education at Marion Technical College (MTC)
b. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend MTC such as acceptance letter, receipt of application or other documentation deemed acceptable by the selection committee
c. Applicant must be eligible to receive a Tri-Rivers certificate of completion in his/her program
d. Applicant must submit recommendation forms to all current teachers of the applicant
e. Selection is based on grades and financial need, with emphasis on attitude, attendance, seriousness of purpose, initiative, dependability and getting along with others
f. In-house and satellite senior students of Tri-Rivers are eligible

14. FFA Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a senior from either the Ag Industrial Power or Veterinary Science Program
b. Applicant must have B’s or better in their Career Tech Program and C’s or better in all other Tri- Rivers classes.
c. Applicant must have had no discipline that resulted in suspension and fewer than 5 unexcused absences in their senior year at Tri-Rivers
d. Applicants must have a strong interest in the agriculture field and plans for careers in areas related to their Career Tech Programs
e. Applicants must present evidence of acceptance to a college, university, technical or other post- secondary program related to either Ag Industrial Power or Veterinary Science
f. Applicant must be an active member of the Tri-Rivers Chapter of the FFA
e. If no eligible student applies from either program then no scholarship will be awarded.

15. TRCC Scholarship

a. Applicant must be a senior at Tri-Rivers Career Center and planning to continue an education at a college, technical school, licensed nursing program, or cosmetology school.
b. Applicant must provide documentation of plans to attend college.
c. Applicant must be eligible to receive a Tri-Rivers certificate of completion in their program.
d. Applicant must submit a recommendation form to all current teachers.
e. Selection is based on grades and financial need, with emphasis on attitude, attendance, seriousness of purpose, initiative, and dependability.

16. Board of Education Scholarship

a. Applicants must have been accepted to an accredited college, university or technical school.
b. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4 point scale.
c. Applicants’ financial need should be considered taking into account State and Federal Grants and other scholarships to be received by candidates.
d. Applicants should be courteous, socially adaptable, and have a good personality.
e. Applicants should possess other characteristics the committee may deem necessary in the selection of a candidate.

18. 
Azazie Scholarship Program. This is a new $1000 scholarship available for high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomore students, who are accepted or enrolled at an accredited U.S. or Canada college/university during the 2017-18 academic year.

 The contest will require the student to write an essay on the topic of “How would technology influence the fashion industry in the future?” The winner will be judged on the sincerity of their passion, drive to make a difference and intelligence in conveying their vision. One winner will be chosen at the sole discretion of Azazie Scholarship Committee.
