“Tri-Rivers works directly with local businesses and corporations like Union Tank Car, Nucor, Whirlpool and Honda to help provide training and meet the demands of today’s job market,” added Speelman. “It is with the community’s support that we will be able to stay on that path, making sure our students are ready for the ever-changing employment landscape.”

The Tri-Rivers Career Center has provided skills training for youths and adults for 42 years—changing and adapting as the job market as grown into a global economy.

Since 1976, area high school students and adult students have received training at the Tri-Rivers Career Center. Tri-Rivers is recognized as a quality educational institution in Central Ohio through the offering of diversified programs, qualified and caring staff, and successful placement and retraining of individuals in the workforce.

The Tri-Rivers Career Center serves high school students from 9 associate schools. High school students from Cardington, Elgin, Highland, Marion Harding, Mt. Gilead, North Union, Pleasant, Ridgedale, and River Valley have the opportunity to choose from a variety of specific career-technical and college tech prep specialty programs for their focus of study. Two-year programs at the school culminate with students receiving their high school diploma and a Career Passport that verifies the completion of specific career-technical related skills to prospective employers. As a result Tri-Rivers students are successfully placed into the work force upon completion of their specific program requirements.

Tri-Rivers also offers excellent Adult Education programs. Each year, hundreds of adults receive skill training and skill enhancement offerings through the Center. Adult students can select from on-site programs, full-time and part-time programs, or from customized specialty programs. Successful employment placement rates in nursing, paramedicine, and other training programs are an indication that the Adult Education provides valuable and meaningful opportunities to adult students.

The Tri-Rivers School of Nursing was recently ranked number one in the State of Ohio for the second year by RegisteredNursing.org. Eighty-four schools in Ohio were analyzed and 30 qualified to be ranked, said Dr. Emeline Kelly, Tri-Rivers Director of Health & Public Safety program. Dr. Kelly said RegisteredNursing.Org ranked nursing schools in Ohio by analyzing current and historical NCLEX-RN pass rates.

The Tri-Rivers Career Center is a valuable community resource. Many organizations and individuals utilize the facility for banquets, meetings, seminars, receptions and other community activities. It is our goal that Tri-Rivers is representative of a quality educational institution that provides significant opportunities for the communities it serves.

We hope that we can assist you in meeting your professional and personal goals.

Most respectfully,

Charles A. Speelman
