WEATHER POLICY UPDATE 1/21/2026: Becuase we have reached our maximum of 5 traditional calamity days for the school year, Tri-Rivers will be transitioning to an ONLINE DAY Learning plan (Blended Learning) for any future weathjer related closures.
We know weather decisions can sometimes cause questions. To make it easier, here are the key points you need to know about Tri-Rivers delays and closings. A full letter, which was recently shared with families is linked at the bottom of this page. Here are the key highlights to know: when Tri-Rivers is in session, students are expected to attend—even if their home district is delayed or closed. We always want students to be safe as they travel to and from school, so below are some of the main points from the family letter to help you quickly find what applies to your situation.
Q: Why doesn’t Tri-Rivers always match my home district’s weather decision?
A: Because students come from multiple districts, Tri-Rivers follows its own academic calendar. This means we may be open when some home districts are delayed or closed. Students are expected to attend TRCC whenever we are in session.
Q: What if the roads in my area are unsafe, but TRCC is open?
A: Safety is always the top priority. If your home district has delayed or closed and roads where you live are unsafe, email and complete your assignments in Canvas within 24 hours.
Q: What happens if Tri-Rivers announces a delay or closing?
A: Follow the adjusted schedule or closure procedures, and check Canvas for assignments and announcements from your instructors. After five (5) days of cancellations, students will be required to complete online assignments through Canvas.
Q: What are the start times on regular and delay days?
-
Regular Day: First bell 8:12, Tardy after 8:15
-
Two-Hour Delay: First bell 10:12, Tardy after 10:15
-
Morning Part-Time: Leave at 11:17 (delay: 12:13)
-
Afternoon Part-Time: Arrive 5–10 minutes before 11:53 (delay: before 12:49)
Q: What should I do if I’m on Work-Based Learning or an Internship?
A: Contact both your instructor and employer if your schedule is impacted. Always check Canvas for expectations. If you are missing work or have failing grades, you may be required to attend TRCC instead of going to your placement.
Q: How can I stay informed about delays or closings?
A: Monitor Tri-Rivers’ official website and social media, and set up notifications for both TRCC and your home district through FinalForms.
