The Industrial Maintenance Training Program at Tri-Rivers provides the skills necessary to perform industrial maintenance tasks in today’s manufacturing operations.

This is a complete curriculum. Our professional instructors give you hands-on training in each of our classes—Basic Welding, Advanced Welding, HVAC training, Basic Electricity and Electronics, Introduction to Computers and Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC’s, Machine Tools and more. We’ll give you the knowledge and skills to get you prepared for the 21st century.

You’ll do more than read a textbook. You will design, build, test and troubleshoot. You’ll demonstrate your knowledge. Be prepared to learn!

Tuition for Industrial Maintenance for 2017-2018 includes texts, workbooks, lab supplies, and initial certification tests in Welding and HVAC EPA 608.

Federal Financial Aid is available to qualified students.

Prerequisites and Enrollment

In order to help ensure successful completion of the course and entry level employment, students must meet these requirements and fulfill all enrollment procedures before being admitted to class.

  1. Complete and return the application form with the $95 non-refundable fee and high school transcript showing proof  of graduation or GED. This is in addition to the tuition amount. A student is considered “registered” when the fee has been paid and the form has been completed and turned in.
  2. A student is considered “enrolled” after 1) attending the assessment session. 2) he/she has passed the pre-entrance tests.
  3. Tuition for a particular quarter is due on or before the first day of the quarter or the student will not receive texts and supplies or be permitted to attend class, until payment is made in full. Financial Aid is available for qualified students.

Tri-Rivers Center for Adult Education reserves the right to adjust the sequence of classes based on availability of instructor. Prices subject to change; pricing includes texts, materials and supplies needed for course.

Pre-Requisite knowledge – recommended sequence of training:

* Basic Electricity & Electronics – Applied Math recommended
* Machine Trades – Blueprint Reading recommended
* PLC’S – Intro to Computers & Electronics required
* Electrical/Mechanical Troubleshooting – Basic Electricity required or competencies
* Advanced Welding – Basic Welding required, supplies and books from Basic Welding used

*Note: Classes are scheduled for Monday – Thursday evenings 5-9 pm with some selected Fridays. A day specific calendar is available from the Adult Education office.

The following classes are some of our most popular classes in our Industrial Maintenance program and can be taken as an individual student buy-in class on a space-available basis:

Basic Welding

48 Hours – $996 includes text, safety equipment, & materials
This course teaches the student welding and cutting safety and the basic fundamentals of oxy-fuel cutting, shielded metal arc welding (stick), gas metal arc welding (mig), in the flat and horizontal positions.

Advanced Welding

48 Hours – $938
This course starts with safety and teaches the student more advanced welding positions including vertical and overhead welding, concluding with an AWS welding qualification test.

EPA Section 608 Technician Certification Class & R410-A

24 Hours – $340
This course provides the students with a technical understanding of Refrigerant containment Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.

HVAC (Heating & Air Conditioning) Intro, EPA 608 & Controls & Troubleshooting.

100 Hours – $1,547
This class provides the student with a basic understanding of the Theory of Heat, Safety, Tools and Equipment, Shop Practices, Basic Automatic Controls, Electric Motors, Commercial Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Heating and Humidification).Air Conditioning (Cooling), All-Weather Systems, Domestic Appliances, Chilled-Water Air Conditioning Systems..
