Program Structure
The Fiber Optic Technician program is uniquely tailored for adult learners, focusing on practical, skills-based training rather than traditional classroom methods. This course emphasizes real-world applications in fiber optics, such as cable installation, splicing, and troubleshooting. You’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience in a supportive environment, designed to meet your pace and accommodate your schedule. Classes meet three evenings a week, providing the flexibility you need to balance education with other commitments.
- Duration: January 7, 2025 – April 17, 2025
- Class Times: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
- Certifications Available: Upon completion, students will be prepared to pursue industry-recognized certifications relevant to fiber optics technology, enhancing employability in various technical and telecommunications fields.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an Ohio resident.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a high school diploma.
- WorkKeys assessment score of 4 required on each section.

Prospective students should call or email to discuss enrollment and funding options. For students who qualify, full tuition coverage is available through Ohio’s Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP). This must be applied for by the student, but Tri-Rivers can assist you!
