A Message from Dr. Dan Kaffenbarger, Interim Superintendent
Tri-Rivers Career Center
Dear Tri-Rivers Community,
It is an honor to serve as the Interim Superintendent of Tri-Rivers Career Center. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a classroom teacher, building administrator, and ESC Superintendent. From the moment I first visited Tri-Rivers, I could sense the pride, passion, and purpose that define this district. I knew immediately that my experience and skill set could help support the important work already underway as we prepare for the next chapter of leadership.
I love the work that is happening in career and technical education. The instructors at Tri-Rivers have done a tremendous job designing programs that benefit not only our students but also the greater Marion community. These programs are preparing the next generation of skilled professionals, innovators, and leaders—an effort that has a direct and lasting impact on our local workforce and economy.
During my time here, my focus will be on strengthening communication with our associate schools, helping to document and memorialize key processes, and ensuring a smooth transition so that the next superintendent can step confidently into the role and continue the district’s momentum.
The Tri-Rivers Board of Education will officially open the superintendent search on October 16, with applications accepted through January 9. The first round of interviews will begin on January 22, with a final offer and Board approval expected during the February Board of Education meeting.

Thank you for your continued support of Tri-Rivers Career Center. Together, we will ensure that our students—and our community—continue to thrive.
Warm regards,
Dr. Dan Kaffenbarger
