Maintenance Technician

BASIC PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Property Manager, performs various maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the apartment communities in accordance with the policies and procedures.

·         Completes Move in/Move out inspections

·         Turns units

·         Repairs and improves vacant and occupied apartments

·         Site visits / walk grounds

·         Meet vendors

·         Attend daily morning meetings with manager

·         Identify needed supplies; place order upon approval from a manager

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

General Maintenance Activities:

·         Assists with the completion of all market-ready apartments, emergency and non-emergency service requests, various maintenance activities, and community inspections.  Ensures the apartment community’s overall exterior appearance is maintained.

 

Inventory Control:

·         May assist in monitoring, controlling and safeguarding maintenance inventory and/or supplies.

·         Represents the Company in a professional manner at all times.  Consistently maintains a professional courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers and the general public.

·         Performs other duties as assigned such as, but not limited to, delivering communication to residents, attending and participating training seminars, and running errands, as requested.

 

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.  Trade school and/or military training a plus. One to three years verifiable hands-on general maintenance experience (i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpeting, painting, etc.) is preferred with a proficiency in at least one major area.
