Fall FISH Day kicks off year

Fall FISH! Day 2011

Tri-Rivers Annual FISH! Philosophy Day, Friday, August 19 was a huge success! Students and staff members enjoyed all the team building activities.

The FISH Philosophy is all about choosing your attitude each day. There are four main concept: Play, Make Their Day, Be There and Choose Your Attitude. These are the ingredients that make the World Famous Pike Place Fish Market and Tri-Rivers Career Center a fun environment for staff and students.

Karen Hedges, School Improvement Coordinator, who organizes the event, said the students viewed the FISH! video earlier in the week to learn about the philosophy. “The event is a great time for students and staff to get to know each other and to learn more about the FISH! Philosophy that the Career Center uses each and every day.”

Play. It’s about having fun. Life is too short to spend it frowning and unhappy.

Make Their Day. It is about doing something special for your customers and coworkers. When you make someone’s day, you have given them a special gift they won’t soon forget.

Be There. It’s about being totally focused on the moment and on the person or task with which you are engaged.

Choose Your Attitude.  It’s about accepting full responsibility for all of your choices, even our attitude. A positive attitude is a decision we make, moment to moment.
