IT Desktop Support Technician

The Union County Auditor is now seeking an experienced IT Desktop Support Technician to join the County’s IT Team. Under the direction of the IT Director, this role provides initial or Level One (1) technical support to County staff for various technologic equipment and software/applications. Also provides phone support to the public for various County web applications. Assists IT staff with various IT support tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Completion of two (2) year degree in computer science, information technology, or related technical field; one (1) to two (2) years’ experience providing technical support (network, operating systems, troubleshooting, workstations, mobile devices, peripherals, etc.); or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.  Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.  Strong communications skills – must be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences in a patient and effective manner.  Functional knowledge of the latest Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office product suites.  Ability to resolve IT support requests or incidents in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner. Must also be capable of passing a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

No requirements.  A+ certification preferred.
