Patient Care Technician Students Graduate

“The 2011 Patient Care Technician Graduation was held Thursday, May 5, 2011 in the Giauque Auditorium. “We want to thank Lori McGuire, the program coordinator and all of our instructors who became are friends and mentors,” said Melissa Albright, the class speaker.

The program, which is seven years old, according to McGuire, is designed to prepare students for entry-level careers in 10 different skilled healthcare professions. Some of the graduates plan to purse LPNs, other are starting new positions and some are going to use their newly acquired skills in current positions or to seek new positions.

Graduates included: Melissa Albright, Ashley Aldridge, Tricia Carlyle, Susan Carwile, Regina Dunham, Dawn Gray, John Henkel*, Kathryn Keller*, Katelyn Lanker, Andrea Lohr, Dawn Marie McLeod, Logan Mitchell*, Vicky Musselman, Jessica Rowe, Marilyn Stinson and Tasha White. Awards included:

• Excellence in Medical Coding and the Peer Award—Melissa Albright.
• Excellence in Phlebotomy–Susan Carwile and Vicky Musselman.
• Excellence in Clinical Rotation Performance—Dawn Marie McLeod, John Henkel and Tricia Carlyle.

McQuire said all of the students who took the Home Health Certification passed, including: Albright, Carlyle, Carwile, Dunham, Gray, Keller, Lanker, Lohr, McLeod, Mitchell, Musselman, Rowe, Stinson and White.
