2020-2021 FAFSA Presentation

To view presentation Click Here

The Ohio State University at Marion will hold an online Financial Aid Information Presentation for the 2021-2022 award year. This FREE financial aid presentation is for parents and/or students of all income levels. The forms discussed are used at all two-year and four-year colleges and universities. Therefore, you are welcome to watch even if you and/or your child plans to attend a college other than Ohio State Marion or MTC.

Many two and four-year colleges and universities throughout the U.S. require or strongly encourage filling out the FAFSA. The information you provide on this form becomes the basis for determining eligibility for federal and state grants, work study programs, some scholarships, and subsidized & unsubsidized student loans.

Questions??  Please check your Tri-Rivers email account to sign up to talk to one of OSU-Marions’s financial representatives.

College is not free. Students are charged tuition, fees, and room & board and must pay for books and supplies.  The total cost to attend college is referred to as the cost of education or the student budget.  While it is understood that paying for college can be a significant burden, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that college costs are paid.

Financial aid is help to pay for college!

You may start completing the FAFSA on October 1, 2020 for the 2021-2022 school year.

The following documents which pertain to you, your spouse and/or your parents will be needed to complete the FAFSA.

  • Income amounts: 2019 federal tax returns, W-2 forms and any applicable income tax documents
  • A listing of any other types of untaxed income or benefits received in 2019 — may include:
  • Documentation from you and/or your parent’s case worker with the total amount of TANF received for 2019
  • Supplemental Social Security Disability received in 2019
  • The total amount of child support paid and/or received in 2019
  • The total amount of Federal Work Study received in 2019
  • Bank statements
  • Investment records
  • Social Security number
  • FSA ID – replaced PINs in May 2015. FAFSA users will need to create a FSA ID at
How do I create an FSA ID? | Federal Student Aid one week before completing the FAFSA.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS TO ATTEND IF YOUR STUDENT PLANS TO ATTEND COLLEGE FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR!

MANY COLLEGES & SCHOLARSHIPS REQUIRE A COMPLETED FAFSA.

THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR SCHOLARSHIPS, GRANTS, WORKSTUDY PROGRAMS AND FEDERAL LOANS.

USDA approves FREE breakfast & lunch thru Dec. 31, 2020

Good News! The SEAMLESS SUMMER PROGRAM has been extended and Tri-Rivers students are eligible for it! This is part of the COVID relief package for families.

This means every student at TRCC eats free—breakfast, lunch and can pick up “to-go” meals when we are on a hybrid schedule (for you to eat at home!). The program goes thru December 31, 2020 or as long as United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has available funds.

How awesome is that!

The funds you already have in your account can be used for ala carte items or left there until you need them in January when the normal payment system starts back up.

Please, also continue to complete the FREE & REDUCED forms, so that information is ready for January. The Ohio Department of Education uses our free and reduced percentages to determine funding for special programs and there may be special benefits to those who qualify in the future.

The Seamless Summer Option combines features of the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and Summer Food Service Program.
