…My instructor was amazing! I had the opportunity to bring in my own tractor and completely restore it—rebuilding the motor and painting it. It was a great learning experience. I learned skills about machinery that help me do my job better.

Shon Elswick

Welding
Shon Elswick
Vaughn Industries
2016 Tri-Rivers graduate

While attending Tri-Rivers Career Center, my instructor always said that 90% of anything metal has a welding process. Since being out of school, I have worked at Vaughn Industries. Vaughn Industries maintains and installs metal, copper, and PVC piping systems for liquids and gases in various Midwestern businesses. I have studied, worked, and completed the apprentice program with Vaughn Industries in the last four years. Every day, I weld, thread, groove, and solder metal to help keep businesses manufacturing their product.

I liked attending Tri-Rivers Career Center because it allowed me to succeed financially and support my family. With the training that I received at Tri-Rivers, I saved thousands of dollars, paying for an education.

Emily started at Inspirations Nail Studio in 2013. She enjoys the open atmosphere and making clients feel put together. She also loves pampering people!

…Graduating high school with a Cosmetology license helped advance my career. Tri-Rivers continues to push students towards fields needed every day. Without Tri-Rivers I would not be as successful in my field. I love working in the service industry.

Brady McGuire

Interactive Media
Brady McGuire, Cleveland State University

2020 TRCC Graduate

Brady, from Wynford High School, open enrolled at Tri-Rivers Career Center. Tri-Rivers helped him get a leg up on his fellow college students, especially with Adobe certifications and overall knowledge of the camera and film industry.

I have big dreams of moving out of Ohio and moving to Los Angeles, California or Atlanta, Georgia. Cleveland State University is in downtown Cleveland and the film school is in Playhouse Square (which is like a mini New York). The city is alive and is a very different environment from Marion Ohio, but it feels like home. I love it here!

Madison is working as a medical assistant at OhioHealth as a float. Working as a float, she gets to experience working in different specialties and primary care offices.

Tri-Rivers is my second family; all the teachers and staff cared about me as a student as well as a person. Tri-Rivers has made a big difference in my life. I graduated debt-free and I was able to start my career right after graduation. Tri-Rivers truly is a school where you are allowed to, inspired to, and expected to be amazing!

Corrine Starks

Esthetics (Skin Care)
Corrine Starks,  Student at Baldwin Wallace University majoring in Technical Theater & minoring in Studio Art
2018 Tri-Rivers Graduate

Corrine’s focus in her major is Costume, Wig, and Makeup Design which is where Tri-Rivers comes into play. In high school she worked very hard and earned her Cosmetology and Esthetics License in the same year. Doing that set her apart right away in the theater world to be able to go to school and work in her dream job. She has already been able to design makeup, wigs, and natural hair for eight shows in the past two years.

Tri-Rivers fully set me up with leadership skills, a drive to work hard and the feeling of believing in myself. What made my time in high school even more special was SkillsUSA. I can walk into any job interview and use my leadership and interview skills gained from this organization.

He also continued his education at Marion Technical College in Electrical Engineering. He is currently working with his company as the lead developer of a new product to sanitize water fountains.

…I wasn’t sure I wanted to come to Tri-Rivers, but after a week I had easily adapted and made friends. I liked the relaxed atmosphere in RAMTEC. Most of all, I liked the project-based learning. As a junior I worked on two projects for Whirlpool. I love the freedom and creativity in engineering. Tri-Rivers was a great choice for me.

Tiffany Manley

Tiffany Manley, Penzone Salon & Spa
2003 Tri-Rivers graduate

Tiffany has been working at Penzone’s for 17 years. She is a Senior Director behind the chair and Junior Stylist Coordinator. When new cosmetologists join the team, they are under her management during their training. She teaches their classes and sets their schedules. She has done photo shoots for Columbus Bride as well as worked behind the scenes for the Columbus Bridal Show and Fashion Week.

I truly enjoy what I do as well as sharing my knowledge with young professionals starting out in the industry.
I am very thankful for Tri-Rivers and my experiences there. Without the cosmetology program and the amazing support of the TRCC educators, I do not believe I would be where I am today. Tri-Rivers has a huge impact on young professionals in the area and I am very proud to be a part of it.
