Tri-Rivers honored Veterans with free services
To thank area veterans Tri-Rivers Career Center students and staff provided complimentary services during the second 2016 annual “Services for Those Who Served Day” on Friday, November 11. The event was coordinated by the Social Studies Department.
Some of the services provided to veterans included:
• A Soup & Salad Bar lunch provided by our Culinary Arts students in CC Bistro
• A Wash, Wax & Vacuum vehicle service provided by our Auto technology students
• Haircuts, Manicures & Pedicures provided by our Cosmetology students
• Servicing lawn equipment including: Lawn mowers, Chain saws, weed eaters, Snow blowers and Power washers by our Ag & Industrial Power students
• Pet Grooming provided by TRCC’s Veterinary Sciences program
• Portraits were taken by Digital Media & Entertainment students
• Health checks of vital signs were provided by our Health Careers Academy students
• Computer safety inspections were performed by our Computer Networking students
• Criminal Justice demonstrations were held for Veterans and their families about student preparation for military and or police work
